With AppleCare One, Apple introduced a new subscription model for device protection in the summer of 2025, bundling multiple products into a single plan. Now there are concrete indications that this service could also become available in Europe. A recent trademark application provides an initial basis for this.
The name "AppleCare One" has been registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Such moves are typically strategic for Apple and often indicate a planned expansion of products or services. While a direct market launch is not yet confirmed, this development strongly suggests a possible introduction outside the US.
AppleCare One: Concept and Introduction
AppleCare One launched in the United States in July 2025. Essentially, it's a subscription that combines coverage for multiple Apple devices into a single plan.
The starting price is $19.99 per month. This basic plan includes up to three devices. Additional devices can be added for $5.99 each per month.
Services and functionality
The scope of services largely corresponds to the familiar AppleCare+ model, but goes beyond it in some respects. Included are:
- Unlimited repairs for accident damage
- Priority access to technical support
- Battery service and warranty coverage
Furthermore, AppleCare One extends protection to additional device classes for the first time. In particular, iPads and Apple Watches can now also be insured against theft and loss. This protection was previously only available for iPhones.
Significantly more flexibility
A key difference to AppleCare+ lies in the flexibility of the subscription.
Devices can be added to or removed from the plan at any time. It's also possible to include older products. Apple allows devices up to four years old to be included, provided they are in good condition.
This represents a significant expansion compared to the previous model, where AppleCare+ had to be purchased within 60 days of purchase.
Another practical aspect concerns device changes: If an insured product is traded in directly through Apple, the system automatically replaces it with the new device in the existing subscription.
Pricing structure and potential savings
Apple states that the monthly price remains constant regardless of the specific device combination. This can result in a financial advantage compared to individual AppleCare+ contracts.
According to the company, savings of up to $11 per month are possible if, for example, an iPhone, an iPad and an Apple Watch are insured together.
Whether these price advantages can also be transferred to European markets is currently unclear. Regional price differences could lead to adjustments.
Status of EU implementation
The trademark application has already been accepted by the EUIPO and assigned to an examiner. This shows that the process is actively progressing.
However, it's important to note that registration alone is not official confirmation of a market launch. Apple has not yet announced a concrete timeline for the introduction of AppleCare One in Europe.
However, past experience shows that comparable trademark applications often preceded an international rollout.
AppleCare One before possible European launch
AppleCare One expands the existing AppleCare concept with a flexible subscription model that covers multiple devices simultaneously and integrates new protection features. The ability to include older devices and the enhanced theft and loss protection, in particular, distinguish the service from previous offerings.
The EUIPO filing is a clear indication that Apple is preparing to expand into European markets. While a specific launch date is still pending, the developments point to an imminent introduction. (Image: Apple)
