To mark its 50th anniversary, Apple is using the opportunity to reaffirm its role in the technology industry. In an interview on "Good Morning America," CEO Tim Cook discusses Apple's most important achievements, current developments in artificial intelligence, major investments in the US, and rumors about his possible resignation.

In its anniversary year, Apple is presenting itself not only as an innovative technology company, but also as a company with social responsibility. In the interview, Tim Cook combines economic topics with statements on data privacy, conscious technology use, and political neutrality.

Apple's contributions and social initiatives

Cook highlighted several of Apple's key achievements: reinventing music and the smartphone, fostering creative work, and the Apple Watch as a life-saving product. At the same time, Apple announced plans to expand its partnership with "Save the Music." The number of schools reached is expected to nearly double, with 25,000 children receiving music lessons next year.

Technology and Society

Cook emphasizes that Apple doesn't want people spending too much time on their smartphones. Technology should improve everyday life, but not replace real life. Endless scrolling is pointless; instead, more time should be spent away from digital devices.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection

Cook describes artificial intelligence as a neutral technology whose impact depends on humans. Apple prioritizes data privacy. As many processes as possible run directly on the device and are encrypted. If necessary, Apple uses "Private Cloud Compute," a cloud solution with comparable security standards to the device itself.

Investments in the USA

Apple plans to invest $600 billion over the next four years. This includes:

  • Glass production for iPhones in Kentucky
  • Over 100 million chips from Arizona
  • More than 20 billion semiconductors manufactured in the US

This production applies to devices worldwide, not just the US market.

Tariffs and policy

Regarding potential customs refunds of around $3.3 billion, Cook remains cautious. Apple is monitoring the legal developments and will decide only afterward. Politically, Cook considers himself neutral and focuses on substantive issues rather than party politics.

Resignation rumors

Cook firmly rejects rumors of a possible resignation. He emphasizes that he has loved his work for 28 years and cannot imagine a life without Apple.
