January 2026 brings several major series returns to Apple TV. After a relatively quiet period around the holidays, the streaming service kicks off the new year with new seasons of established productions. The focus is on thrillers, dramas, comedies, and content for children and families. There are hardly any new series premieres; instead, the lineup is dominated by continuations.

Apple TV is focusing on continuity at the start of 2026. The platform is primarily releasing new seasons of popular series in January, some of which have been highly anticipated. At the same time, the current week's lineup is manageable, as many productions were on hiatus before the holidays. The month is therefore clearly aimed at viewers who want to continue watching existing series or catch up on missed seasons.

Tehran Season 3

The third season of Tehran, an international spy thriller, premieres on January 9th. The series tells the story of Tamar Rabinyan, played by Niv Sultan. She is a hacker and Mossad agent operating under a false identity in Tehran.

Following the events of the second season, Tamar is considered a rogue. She has lost close allies and finds herself in a life-threatening situation. In season 3, she must find a way to reorient herself while simultaneously regaining the support of Mossad in order to survive. Alongside Sultan, Shaun Toub and Shila Ommi return. New additions to the cast include Hugh Laurie, Sasson Gabai, Bahar Pars, and Phoenix Raei. Thematically, the series continues to explore political tension, moral ambiguities, and personal drama.

Hijack Season 2

The second season of Hijack premieres on January 14th and remains true to the thriller genre. After the airplane scenario of the first season, the action shifts to a Berlin subway this time. A train and its passengers are taken hostage.

As an acute threat develops underground, authorities on the surface try to save hundreds of lives. Once again, Sam Nelson, played by Idris Elba, is at the center of the story. The series continues to focus on decisions made under extreme time pressure, where a single mistake can have catastrophic consequences.

Drops of God Season 2

Drops of God returns for its second season on January 21st. The drama continues the story of Camille and Issei, who face a new and significantly more dangerous challenge: the search for the origin of the world's finest wine.

This mystery is so complex that even her father, Alexandre Léger, was never able to solve it. The search spans continents and different historical periods, bringing to light old family conflicts, rivalries, and long-hidden secrets. A dispute over an inheritance becomes an existential quest for truth, forcing Camille and Issei to decide how much they are willing to sacrifice. This decision could destroy their relationship forever or destroy them both.

Shrinking Season 3

The comedy series Shrinking starts its third season on January 28th. The show continues to center on a grieving therapist who begins to ignore professional rules and ethical boundaries. Instead of remaining neutral, he tells his clients exactly what he thinks.

This openness changes the lives of those around him, as well as his own. The series blends humorous situations with more serious themes such as loss, responsibility, and personal growth. It is precisely this mix that has made "Shrinking" one of the most successful comedy productions on Apple TV.

Yo Gabba GabbaLand! Season 2

The second season of Yo Gabba GabbaLand!, a children's and family show, premieres on January 30th. Aimed at preschoolers, the series combines early learning content with play, music, and dance.

It builds upon the original series "Yo Gabba Gabba!", which won a Daytime Emmy Award and has garnered over 1.2 billion views on YouTube. Familiar characters like Muno, Foofa, Plex, Brobee, and Toodee return, along with the new sorceress Kammy Kam. The series aims to address everyday challenges of early childhood within a positive and creative environment.
