Apple is expanding its presence in international sports and is working with Real Madrid on two projects designed to significantly enhance the experience surrounding the club. The collaboration combines modern technology with the atmosphere of one of the world's most famous stadiums and offers a glimpse into the future of sports media.

Real Madrid has been considered one of the most influential clubs in football for decades. Apple is among the companies that shape technological developments and drive new forms of media consumption. When these two worlds collide, content is created that expands upon traditional sports broadcasts. Immersive formats, innovative camera technology, and the Vision Pro platform are at the heart of this.

New Real Madrid documentary in Apple Immersive format

The first part of the collaboration is a new documentary about Real Madrid, which will be released on Vision Pro next year. According to GQ España, it was produced entirely in Apple's Immersive format. This format offers a 180-degree view in 8K resolution combined with spatial audio. This creates a spatial experience that is intended to closely resemble being at the stadium.

Filming took place with more than 30 specially developed Blackmagic cameras designed for 3D depth. The footage was shot during the Champions League match against Juventus in October. The production provides both on-field footage and behind-the-scenes glimpses. The atmosphere of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is captured so vividly that even the smallest details remain visible.

An Apple TV documentary about the club, titled Real Madrid: Until The End, already exists. However, it wasn't produced in an immersive format and therefore offers a more traditional streaming experience.

Project Infinite Bernabéu

In addition to the documentary, Apple is working on a second, significantly larger project. Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez calls it the Infinite Bernabéu. The goal is to make the stadium accessible worldwide through technology. Pérez described the idea to GQ España as an experience without limits or barriers, combined with a level of technology that will represent a turning point in sports.

It's possible that individual games will be streamed live on Vision Pro in the future using Apple's Immersive format. Similar tests are already underway this season for select Los Angeles Lakers games. Specific details for Real Madrid haven't been announced yet, but the direction of the collaboration suggests further immersive live content.

Apple's 40 years in Spain

The collaboration coincides with Apple's anniversary celebrations. The company has been active in Spain for four decades. To mark this milestone, a live performance was held at the Apple Store at Puerta del Sol in Madrid. The event was recorded using iPhone 17 Pro cameras. Tim Cook stated that there was no better way to celebrate Apple's 40 years in Spain than by highlighting the creativity and talent that have shaped the country. Further details can be found in an official company press release .

New avenues for football fans through Apple technology

The partnership between Apple and Real Madrid blends technology with football culture. While the new immersive documentary aims to capture the atmosphere of a Champions League evening in unprecedented detail, Infinite Bernabéu strives for a digital stadium experience that could reach people worldwide. Together with Apple's anniversary in Spain, this creates a comprehensive picture that demonstrates the market's importance to the company and the role Vision Pro could play in future sporting events.
