Apple today opened its new Sainte-Catherine Store in Montreal. The location marks a significant expansion of Apple's downtown presence, replacing the previous store with a much larger, redesigned space. The store is housed in a historic building at the corner of Sainte-Catherine Street West and Rue de la Montagne. By revitalizing and expanding this building, Apple blends its modern store architecture with the city's history.
Apple has been a part of downtown Montreal for almost 20 years. The city is known for being creative, diverse, and innovative. The new Apple Sainte-Catherine Store builds on this heritage. Deirdre O'Brien, Apple's Senior Vice President of Retail and People, describes the opening as the next step in a long-standing relationship with the local community. The goal is to create a space where products, services, and personalized advice come together, reflecting Apple's values.

Location and building
The Apple Sainte-Catherine store is located in the heart of Montreal, on one of the busiest street corners in the city center. The historic building has been extensively renovated and its floor space more than doubled. This not only enlarges the store itself, but also increases Apple's visibility in the city center.
The facade combines Saint-Marc stone from Quebec with local granite. Particular attention was paid to the restoration of the cornice, which was renewed by local copper craftsmen. This preserves the building's original character while integrating it into a modern Apple Store.
Design and accessibility
The store was designed to be open, well-organized, and inviting. Different table and seat heights provide flexibility within the space. Wide aisles facilitate orientation and offer wheelchair users more room to maneuver. The goal is an environment where people with diverse needs can move around and receive advice with ease.

Products, services and support
The new Apple Sainte-Catherine Store focuses on the latest Apple products and services. A dedicated Apple Pickup area allows customers to collect products ordered online at a convenient time. The Genius Bar offers technical support from experienced Apple specialists.

In addition, services are available that are offered exclusively in Apple Stores. These include personalized shopping sessions with Apple specialists, flexible monthly financing options, competitive trade-in values, and comprehensive expert advice on devices, software, and services.

Today at Apple and Learning in the Store
A key component of the store concept are the free "Today at Apple" sessions. These workshops teach participants how to properly align photos, edit videos, and get started with Apple Intelligence on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Additionally, there are sessions that deal with assistive technologies. These include, among other things, an introduction to features such as VoiceOver on iPhone and iPad. The focus is on imparting basic knowledge and breaking down digital barriers.

The team on site
The Apple Sainte-Catherine Store employs a team of nearly 200 highly skilled specialists. Together, they speak dozens of languages, reflecting Montreal's cultural diversity. The staff helps customers better understand their devices and use them more efficiently in their daily lives.

Opening events and local relevance
To celebrate the opening, Montreal-based illustrator and designer Catherine Potvin will be at the store on Friday, January 16, and Saturday, January 17. She will be giving live art demonstrations on the iPad. At certain times, she will create custom illustrations directly onto Apple shopping bags.

Apple has been active in Canada for over 40 years and currently operates 28 retail stores nationwide, including five in the province of Quebec. The new store further strengthens this regional focus. Visitors can discover locally produced films, television shows, music, books, podcasts, and apps. Additionally, there is a curated Apple Music Sainte-Catherine playlist and the option to sign up directly for Today at Apple Sessions.
