Apple Arcade is strategically expanding its offerings in February, focusing on established brands, new game ideas, and regular content updates for existing titles. A particular highlight is the launch of the popular strategy game series Civilization, which will be available for the first time in a specially adapted Arcade Edition. The lineup is rounded out by three additional games from different genres, as well as new events and updates for existing titles.

Apple Arcade has established itself in recent years as a game subscription service that prioritizes quality over advertising and in-app purchases. All games are fully unlocked and playable on multiple Apple devices. The addition of popular PC and console titles like PowerWash Simulator and Cult of the Lamb Arcade Edition has significantly enhanced the service. February continues this trend, bringing both big names and creative new titles to the platform.

Civilization VII is coming to Apple Arcade

Sid Meier's Civilization VII Arcade Edition will be released on Apple Arcade on February 5th. This marks the first time the award-winning PC strategy game series will be available as part of the subscription service. The game is playable on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, offering a full-fledged AAA strategy experience for on-the-go and at home.

In Civilization VII, the focus is once again on building your own empire. With the dawn of each new era in human history, civilizations evolve. Decisions have long-term consequences for culture, politics, and technological development. The gameplay remains flexible. It's possible to adhere closely to historical models or deliberately forge new paths and realize your own vision of civilization.

Each game leaves behind a unique legacy that unfolds over centuries. Civilization VII thus joins a growing selection of major PC games now available on Apple Arcade.

Three new games will be added to the lineup on the same day

Alongside Civilization VII, three more games will be released on Apple Arcade on February 5th. Like all titles in the subscription service, they are completely ad-free and contain no in-app purchases.

Retrocade

Retrocade is aimed at fans of classic arcade games. The collection brings together well-known titles from the golden age of arcades in one place. These include Asteroids, Bubble Bobble, Centipede, and Galaga, among others. All games can be experienced exactly as they were originally released.

A special feature is the support for Apple Vision Pro. This allows users to enter a virtual arcade that combines the classic arcade experience with modern technology. Additionally, the Retrocade games are also playable on iPhone and iPad.

Felicity's Door

Felicity's Door is a new rhythm game that seamlessly blends gameplay mechanics, music, and visual design. The journey takes you through the dream world of Tom and Felicity, accompanied by the twins and their bear, Mi-chan.

The settings alternate between outer space, rugged coastal landscapes, and sprawling cyberpunk cities. The game places a strong emphasis on atmosphere and musical timing, and is aimed at players who value audiovisual experiences.

I Love Hue Too+

I Love Hue Too+, a previously released title from the App Store, joins the Apple Arcade lineup. This puzzle game focuses on colors, light, and shapes. The goal is to arrange colored mosaic tiles to create harmonious color gradients.

The gameplay is calm and meditative, forming a deliberate contrast to complex strategy or action games. The focus is on order, perception, and a sense of color.

Updates and exclusive events for existing games

In addition to new releases, Apple Arcade continues to focus on regular updates and limited-time events. On January 22, Paddington returns for an exclusive event in Crayola Create and Play+.

The event focuses on a winter day with various activities for children. These include building snowmen, creative cake decorating, coloring, and other small games. The event is time-limited and available exclusively on Apple Arcade.

Up-to-date information on new games, updates, and events can be found in the App Store and the Apple Games app. Both serve as a central platform for discovering games, launching them instantly, and finding new favorites.

Apple Arcade Pricing and Availability

Apple Arcade costs €6.99 per month and includes a free one-month trial. Three months of Apple Arcade are included free with the purchase of a new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV.

Apple Arcade is also included in Apple One subscriptions. These are available for €19.95 per month for individuals, €25.95 per month for families, and €34.95 per month for a premium subscription. All plans include a free trial.

Apple Arcade shows clear direction with new games in February

February clearly demonstrates the direction Apple Arcade is taking. Civilization VII Arcade Edition brings a major strategy game to the platform, underscoring its ambition to appeal to experienced players as well. At the same time, Retrocade, Felicity's Door, and I Love Hue Too+ provide variety in style and pace. Combined with regular updates and fair subscription terms, Apple Arcade remains a diverse game offering without ads or additional costs. (Image: Apple)
