The Apple Vision Pro is one of the most ambitious devices Apple has ever introduced. Its combination of cutting-edge mixed-reality technology and high-quality craftsmanship has garnered worldwide attention. However, the wearing experience has been a topic of debate since its launch. Weight and fit, in particular, are seen by many as weak points. New evidence suggests that Apple is addressing this issue. The so-called Dual Knit Band is intended to make the headset more comfortable and wearable for longer.
Apple is currently working on a revised version of the Vision Pro, which could feature not only a faster chip but also a new headband. A previously unknown "Dual Knit Band" has appeared in Apple's backend code. This seems to confirm what insiders like Mark Gurman hinted at back in the summer of 2025: The Vision Pro will receive an accessory designed to significantly increase comfort. For a device that weighs between 21.2 and 22.9 ounces and costs $3,499 (€3,999), this is a crucial step.
Evidence of a new tape
The term "Dual Knit Band" first appeared in Apple's updated backend code, reports MacRumors. Apple currently offers two versions: the Solo Knit Band and the Dual Loop Band. A Dual Knit Band doesn't officially exist yet. However, the name suggests a hybrid of both bands—with the soft, breathable knit material of the Solo Knit Band and the stabilizing effect of two band structures. A text description indicates that there will be one band that goes over the head and another that sits behind the head. This combination could ensure a more even distribution of weight and relieve pressure on the face and forehead.
The current problem with the existing tapes
The Vision Pro is heavier than many other headsets, which can be uncomfortable when worn for extended periods. Users report that the Solo Knit Band distributes the weight poorly, making it uncomfortable. While the Dual Loop Band provides relief around the face, it is less comfortable because it doesn't use the same knit material as the Solo Knit Band. Some users have already come up with their own solutions, combining two Solo Knit Bands. The result: noticeably more support and comfort, especially during extended use. Apple now seems to want to incorporate this experience into an official product.
Rumors are confirmed
Back in July, Apple analyst Mark Gurman reported that a revised version of the Vision Pro could feature a new band to make extended wear more comfortable. The discovery of the Dual Knit Band in Apple's code fits this prediction perfectly, making its imminent launch likely.
Further changes to the Apple Vision Pro
In addition to the new band, the revised model will be released with a more powerful M5 chip. No further major changes to the design or features are planned. Apple is apparently focusing on improving existing weaknesses rather than introducing new features. The price remains at $3,499 (€3,999). A market launch of the revised version is expected before the end of 2025.

The Apple Vision Pro grows into the next generation
The Apple Vision Pro impresses with its technology, but so far suffers from its weight and the associated discomfort. The new Dual Knit Band could be just the solution, taking comfort to a new level. Combined with the faster M5 chip, the redesigned model should appear more mature and be more attractive to many users. With this, Apple is sending an important message: Innovation not only means more performance, but also better everyday usability. (Image: Apple)
