Apple is pushing ahead with its next product offensive. Before the year is out, a crucial phase is approaching: mass production. According to current information, the company is working not only on new MacBooks and displays, but also on updates for Vision Pro, iPads, and smart home devices.

The roadmap for the coming months demonstrates Apple's broad positioning. The focus is on the introduction of the new M5 chip, which will be used in several devices, including the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and an updated Studio Display. At the same time, preparations are underway for a new Vision Pro, an iPad Pro, and updates to the Apple TV and HomePod mini. Information from Mark Gurman (Bloomberg) suggests that these products are already in a crucial production phase.

M5 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in the starting blocks

The next generation of MacBooks is approaching. Apple is preparing the M5 MacBook Pro (codenames J714 and J716) and the M5 MacBook Air (J813 and J815) for mass production. Both models are expected to use the M5 chip, which further advances the development of its own processors.

New studio displays and monitors

Desktop accessories are also moving forward: Apple is working on an update to the Studio Display and two new 27-inch monitors (J427 and J527). Details on technology and features are still pending, but the devices are also in development.

Vision Pro, iPad Pro and Home products

In addition to the Macs, an M5-based Vision Pro and a new iPad Pro are also planned. Updates for Apple TV and the HomePod mini are also expected. These devices are scheduled to be released this fall. This also puts the smart home segment in the spotlight of the current roadmap.

Products for the first half of 2026

Some devices won't be released immediately, but in the first half of next year. These include an iPhone 17e, a new iPad Air with an M4 chip, and a cheaper iPad model. According to Gurman, a spring launch is realistic.

Schedule and outlook

Current indications show that Apple is preparing for mass production in a timely manner. However, this does not guarantee a release this year. A market launch between the end of the year and the first quarter of next year is more likely. The primary focus is on the M5 MacBook Pro, the M5 MacBook Air, and at least one updated Studio Display. A launch in October or November is considered unlikely. However, it is possible that some of these devices—especially the new Macs—could reach market earlier than originally forecast for the first quarter of 2026.

Apple relies on the M5 chip as the engine for its next product offensive

Apple is implementing its strategy with full force. The M5 chip will become the central component powering multiple product lines. With new MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs, displays, and other devices, the ecosystem continues to grow. The coming months should show how Apple once again shapes the market with fresh hardware—although the exact timing remains to be seen. (Image: Shutterstock / Pawarun Chitchirachan)
