Just hours before the WWDC keynote, Tim Cook addresses the nation in a short video featuring prominent guests. The clip plays on his signature greeting ritual – and takes on a special tone ahead of what is likely to be his last major appearance as Apple CEO.
The WWDC keynote begins today at 7:00 PM CEST and can be watched for free via livestream. To get everyone in the mood, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a short video on his X account in which several celebrities say "Good Morning" in very different ways. At the end, Cook refers to his own signature moment: he'll probably say it the way he always does.
Prominent voices offer a familiar greeting
The clip features, among others, country singer Lainey Wilson, actress Rhea Seehorn, and DJ and producer Zedd, each delivering the morning greeting in their own unique style. The punchline focuses on a detail that longtime viewers will immediately recognize: Cook traditionally opens his keynotes with a decidedly enthusiastic "Good Morning"—a small ritual that has become his personal trademark over the years.

A greeting with a farewell character
The video gains particular significance due to the upcoming leadership change. Hardware chief John Ternus will take over as CEO on September 1st, meaning that today's WWDC is in all likelihood Cook's last as acting CEO. When the transition was announced in April, Tim Cook described the role as the greatest privilege of his life and expressed his gratitude for the collaboration with the team. Against this backdrop, the casual "just like I always say" seems like a final, familiar greeting at the start. (Image: Apple)
