Apple Music Replay 2026 is available now, offering an early overview of your personal music year. Apple Music subscribers can now see which songs they've listened to most at the start of the year. As in previous years, Replay launches significantly earlier than traditional year-end reviews and will continue throughout 2026.
Apple Music Replay has become an integral part of the streaming service since its launch. Instead of simply providing a year-end summary, Replay takes an ongoing approach. The playlist grows with your listening habits and changes regularly. Replay 2026 builds on this, combining weekly updates with detailed insights into your individual listening behavior.
Apple Music Replay 2026: Overview and Functionality
Replay 2026 is an automatically generated playlist that lists the 100 most-played songs of the year. The ranking ranges from number 1 to 100 and is based on all listening activity from January 1, 2026. Unlike a static yearly ranking, this list is regularly updated, so the positions can change throughout the year.
Apple typically activates Replay in early February, once the listening data for January has been fully processed. This makes it possible to track the development of one's music taste early in the year, rather than waiting for a summary in December.
Weekly updates instead of a one-off review
A key feature of Apple Music Replay is its continuous updating. Starting in February, the playlist is recalculated every weekend. New songs can rise in the rankings, while others lose popularity or disappear from the top 100. This gradually creates an increasingly accurate picture of the most-listened-to tracks of the year.
Replay 2026 will finally be completed in December. The dynamic playlist will then become the final list of the 100 most-streamed songs of the entire year.
Access via app and web
Replay 2026 is available directly in the Apple Music app. There, the playlist can be found in the "Home" section under "Replay: Your Top Music." Replay can also be accessed via Apple Music on the web. After logging in with your Apple account, you can view the playlist and add it to your library.
Once Replay 2026 is saved, the playlist updates automatically every week without any manual intervention.
Requirements for displaying Replay 2026
For Apple Music Replay 2026 to be displayed, certain conditions must be met. Listening history must be enabled, as Apple can only collect the necessary data for analysis based on this. In Settings under "Music," the "Use Listening History" option must be turned on.
Additionally, sufficient listening activity is required. Those who stream music very infrequently may not reach the minimum amount of data needed for ranking. In such cases, the creation of replays may be delayed. Once enough music has been listened to and the listening history is active, the playlist will appear automatically. It can also take several hours for newly generated playlists to become visible in the app or on the web.
Development of Apple Music Replay since 2015
Apple Music Replay has been part of the streaming service since 2015. Initially, Replay was available exclusively as a web experience and was complemented by an accompanying playlist. In the following years, Apple gradually expanded the feature.
Starting in 2022, the focus shifted more towards detailed statistics and visual analyses. Users received structured overviews of their listening habits throughout the year. With the latest Apple Music updates, these enhanced replay features are integrated directly into the app. In addition to the playlist, monthly breakdowns and further insights are now available, showing how music consumption changes over the course of the year.
