A20 Pro chip manufactured using a 2-nanometer process

C2 modem as the next step away from Qualcomm
Apple plans to use its own C2 modem for the first time in the iPhone 18 Pro. This follows the C1 modem from the iPhone 16e and the C1X from the iPhone Air. The C2 modem is expected to offer higher speeds, better energy efficiency, and, for the first time, mmWave 5G support in the US. This further reduces Apple's reliance on Qualcomm and gives it more control over mobile network performance and power consumption.
New camera sensor from Samsung
A significant change is on the horizon for camera hardware. Samsung is working on a three-layer image sensor called PD-TR Logic, which is said to be specifically designed for the iPhone 18.
