Apple has already unveiled several new devices this year. Nevertheless, rumors about further product releases persist. Currently, there are increasing indications that Apple could present as many as six additional products in the coming weeks and months.
The focus is primarily on new HomePod models, a redesigned Apple TV 4K, more powerful Macs, and an updated base iPad. Many of these devices could be closely related to Apple's growing focus on artificial intelligence.
Apple has followed a clear pattern for years: when stocks of existing products become scarce, a new generation is often imminent. This is precisely the pattern currently emerging with several devices simultaneously.
In parallel, Apple is working intensively on software updates, particularly regarding Siri and so-called Apple Intelligence features. These developments appear to have a direct impact on the hardware roadmap.
The combination of limited availability, new chips, and AI integration suggests that Apple is preparing a larger wave of products.
HomePod mini 2 and HomePod 3: Focus on Siri and AI
In the smart home sector, two new devices could be released: a HomePod mini 2 and a new, larger HomePod.
According to recent reports, both the HomePod mini and the larger HomePod are now only available in limited quantities in many Apple Stores. This development is being interpreted as an indication of imminent successors.
The HomePod mini 2 has reportedly been fully developed for some time. However, its market launch has apparently been postponed, presumably due to delays in the further development of Siri.
The expected update to iOS 26.5 could introduce new AI features for Siri. Only then would the HomePod mini 2 reach its full potential, making its release worthwhile.
There is currently less concrete information available about the new, larger HomePod. However, it is considered likely that Apple will update both models simultaneously. Without a corresponding AI upgrade, the larger model would quickly appear outdated in comparison.
New Apple TV 4K: More power and possible new features
There are also clear indications of an upcoming update for the Apple TV 4K. Current stock levels are declining, which typically points to a new generation.
It has long been expected that a new Apple TV 4K will be equipped with a more powerful chip. The A17 Pro or the A18 are rumored to be the likely candidates. Both chips would support Apple Intelligence, enabling new features. In addition to the chip, other improvements are also being discussed:
- A new N1 Wi-Fi chip for more stable and faster connections
- A possible integrated camera, although this feature is currently considered unsafe.
The timing for an update is good if the announced Siri improvements are indeed introduced with iOS 26.5.
M5 Mac Studio and Mac mini: Performance upgrade without a new design
Following the unveiling of new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with M5 chips, more Macs could soon follow. A new Mac Studio and a Mac mini are the main focus.
The upcoming Mac Studio is expected to be offered with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips. The M5 Ultra is particularly relevant, as there hasn't been a new Ultra chip since the M3 Ultra.
The Mac mini, on the other hand, is expected to be equipped with M5 and M5 Pro chips.
No design changes are currently planned for either device. Instead, the focus is clearly on the performance increase offered by the new chips. However, there is some uncertainty regarding availability.
- Current Mac Studio models are already scarce
- Global shortages of storage and memory could delay the rollout.
Despite these factors, several indications point to an imminent update.
Base iPad with A18 chip: Entry-level with Apple Intelligence
Even the cheapest iPad model is apparently due for an update. While the current entry-level iPad is equipped with an A16 chip, the next generation is expected to receive an A18 chip.
This move is particularly significant because the A18 would bring Apple Intelligence to the base iPad for the first time. This would mean that AI features would no longer be reserved for higher-priced devices.
The timing aligns with Apple's announcements regarding new AI features, which are expected to be unveiled at WWDC. This would further integrate the base iPad into the overall strategy.
Apple continues to expand its ecosystem
Current rumors paint a clear picture: Apple is working on several new devices, characterized primarily by better chips and stronger AI integration.
Whether it's the HomePod mini 2, the new HomePod, Apple TV 4K, Mac Studio, Mac mini or the updated base iPad – all products could be part of a larger strategy to more firmly integrate Apple Intelligence into the entire ecosystem.
Regardless of exactly when these devices are released, it is already clear that Apple is facing another intensive year of new products.
And there's no sign of slowing down. More major new releases are expected this fall, including the iPhone 18 Pro, new AirPods Pro, and the Apple Watch Ultra 4.
