Apple is expanding its global 50th anniversary celebrations with additional events. Following the kickoff in the US and initial events in China and South Korea, events are now planned in Canada, France, and Thailand. These events are part of a global campaign running throughout March that highlights the creative use of Apple products.

Apple's 50th anniversary is not only seen as a historical milestone, but also as an opportunity to highlight the company's role in creative processes. Guided by the motto "Think Different," the events will focus on how technology supports creative expression and opens up new perspectives. Artists, athletes, and other creative professionals will be specifically involved to share their methods and experiences.

Kick-off and previous events

The anniversary series kicked off last week with a special event at the Grand Central Store in New York. Alicia Keys made a surprise appearance, officially opening the celebrations.

Similar events followed in China and South Korea. These initial stages laid the groundwork for the international focus of the campaign and demonstrated Apple's deliberate emphasis on cultural and creative contributions.

Canada: Creativity on the ice

Apple has announced an event in Canada as part of its free "Today at Apple" program. The event will take place on Thursday, March 26, at the Apple Store in the Pacific Centre in Vancouver.

The focus is on professional figure skater Elladj Baldé. The session is themed around celebrating 50 years of "Think Different," showcasing how Baldé uses ice as a medium for creativity and change. His approach aims to inspire younger generations in particular to perform authentically and without fear of convention.

A concrete example of his work is a video shot on a frozen lake in Banff National Park. This video was created using the dual-capture mode of the iPhone 17 Pro. This feature allows filming with both the front and rear cameras simultaneously, opening up new creative possibilities.

France: Four creative sessions in Paris

In France, Apple is organizing four "Today at Apple" sessions at the Apple Store on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Two events will take place on Wednesday, March 25, and two more on Thursday, March 26.

Several creative professionals from different fields are involved in the sessions:

  • DJ and producer Myd
  • graphic designer So Me
  • the fictional radio station SOPORI FM
  • the musician and producer Boombass

The events cover various creative disciplines, including music production, graphic design, and audiovisual projects. The aim is to showcase different perspectives on creative work with Apple technology.

Thailand: High demand in Bangkok

Another „Today at Apple“ event will take place in Thailand on Saturday, March 21st. It will be held at the Apple Store Iconsiam in Bangkok.

Demand is high; the event is already fully booked. The session will focus on artistic expression and digital design.

The event will be led by Molly, the artist behind "Crybaby." She will demonstrate how to develop creative ideas and translate emotions into visual characters. Participants will also learn specific techniques, such as working with Procreate on the iPad and using the Apple Pencil to create custom stickers.

The goal of the global anniversary campaign

All these events are part of a larger strategy with which Apple is celebrating its anniversary throughout the month of March. The company's official birthday is April 1st.

The central focus of all events is how Apple products support creative processes. The emphasis is deliberately placed on real-world application examples that demonstrate how technology can be used in various fields.

The combination of live events, workshops and personal insights is intended to illustrate how strongly Apple is connected to creative industries and individual forms of expression.

Apple's anniversary becomes a global creative platform

The expansion of the anniversary celebrations to Canada, France, and Thailand demonstrates the global reach of the campaign. Each event addresses the central theme of creativity but sets different priorities depending on the region and the people involved.

Apple's 50th anniversary is thus being used not only as a retrospective, but also as a platform to showcase current creative developments and to highlight the role of technology in everyday creative work. (Image: Apple)
