Apple TV has received four nominations at the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy has announced the full list of nominees, including two productions of great importance to Apple TV: F1: The Movie and Severance. This further recognizes Apple's work in music and visual media.

Since the launch of Apple TV (originally Apple TV+), the streaming service has consistently pursued the goal of producing high-quality content – and it's paying off. Apple is appearing more and more frequently at major award ceremonies in the film, television, and music industries. This time, it's the Grammys that are recognizing Apple's creative achievements. Four nominations in four different categories demonstrate that Apple TV impresses not only with stunning visuals but also with outstanding music.

Four nominations in four categories

The 68th annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The event will be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network and simultaneously streamed on Paramount+. Apple will be competing with several entries in various categories.

Best Dance-Pop Recording

In this category, the song "Just Keep Watching" from F1® The Movie, sung by Tate McRae, has been nominated. The song is competing against:

  • Bluest Flame by Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco
  • Abracadabra by Lady Gaga
  • Midnight Sun by Zara Larsson
  • Illegal by PinkPantheress

With Just Keep Watching, Apple TV presents a song that perfectly captures the energy and dynamism of motorsport.

Best Country Solo Performance

F1® The Movie also won in this category. Chris Stapleton received a nomination for his song "Bad As I Used To Be". The other nominees are:

  • Nose On The Grindstone by Tyler Childers
  • Good news from Shaboozey
  • I Never Lie by Zach Top
  • Somewhere Over Laredo by Lainey Wilson

Stapleton's song combines country emotions with the pace and intensity of the film – a rare but effective mix.

Best compilation soundtrack for visual media

The official album F1® The Album has been nominated in the Best Compilation Soundtrack category. It is competing against:

  • A Complete Unknown with Timothée Chalamet
  • KPop Demon Hunters (various artists)
  • Sinners (various artists)
  • Wicked (various artists)

The album brings together various artists and musical styles that support the racing atmosphere of F1® The Movie.

Best soundtrack for visual media (film and television)

The series Severance is also represented. Composer Theodore Shapiro was nominated for his work on Severance: Season 2. In this category, Apple is competing with renowned composers and productions.

  • How To Train Your Dragon – John Powell
  • Sinners – Ludwig Göransson
  • Wicked – John Powell & Stephen Schwartz
  • The Wild Robot – Kris Bowers

The music of Severance is characterized by its clear, minimalist structure, which perfectly suits the atmosphere of the series. It reinforces the feeling of isolation and tension that dominates the plot.

Significance of the nominations for Apple TV

With the nominations for F1: The Movie and Severance, Apple TV once again proves that the streaming service has successfully established itself as a creative force in the entertainment industry. While many competitors focus on quantity, Apple remains true to its commitment to quality – concentrating on technically strong productions that perfectly harmonize image, sound, and narrative.

The four Grammy nominations demonstrate that Apple TV not only impresses visually, but also delivers top-notch musical performance. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the awards span various genres – from pop and country to orchestral soundtracks.

Apple TV strengthens its position in international entertainment

Apple TV has quickly secured a firm place in the international entertainment market. The four Grammy nominations for F1: The Movie and Severance demonstrate that the investments in original content are paying off. Whether it will actually win a Grammy on February 1, 2026, remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: Apple TV is now on par with established studios and proves that the mix of technology, creativity, and artistic ambition works.

Those who want to listen to the nominated songs and soundtracks can find them on Apple Music. The subscription costs €10.99 per month, with the first month free – ideal for experiencing the Grammy-nominated tracks from F1: The Movie and Severance for yourself. (Image: Apple)
