Apple has announced a new special edition band for the Apple Watch. With the Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop, the company expands its Black Unity series and honors Black History Month. The focus is on the themes of connection, cultural identity, and social engagement. The band is available for order now and combines symbolic design with functional functionality.
Apple has been using the Black Unity initiative for several years to highlight cultural diversity while providing concrete support to communities worldwide. The new Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop follows this approach. It's not just an accessory for the Apple Watch, but part of a larger concept that combines design, sustainability, and social responsibility.
Design and material
The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop, like all previous Black Unity bands, was designed by Black creatives and collaborators at Apple. Its color scheme is inspired by the Pan-African flag and features red, green, and black.
Technically, the bracelet is created by weaving filaments of recycled polyester yarn around ultra-thin silicone threads. High-precision braiding machines are used to ensure a uniform structure. The bracelet feels soft, has a slightly textured surface, and is sweat- and water-resistant. Upon closer inspection, several color gradations within the red, green, and black tones become apparent, giving the design additional depth and vibrancy.

Sustainability in focus
Apple also uses recycled materials for this Black Unity band. The polyester yarn used comes from recycling processes and fits into Apple's long-term environmental strategy. The goal is to develop products that are not only durable but also manufactured with the least possible use of resources.
Support for communities worldwide
Alongside the launch of the new Apple Watch Band, Apple continues its social commitment. Through its Black Unity initiative, the company supports organizations that promote unity through educational, cultural, and creative programs. Current supported organizations include the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and Enactus Mexico in Mexico City.
These grants build on Apple's long-standing commitment to strengthening economic, educational, and creative opportunities in underserved communities around the world.
Prices, sizes and availability
The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is available to order now from the Apple Store online and in the Apple Store app. The price is €99 including VAT. The band will also be available in physical Apple Stores later this week.
It is offered in sizes 0 to 12. It is designed for case sizes of 42 mm and 46 mm and is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4 or later, the Apple Watch SE, and all Apple Watch Ultra models. The 46 mm band is used with the Apple Watch Ultra.
Apple's approach: Product and commitment
With the Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop, Apple continues its Black Unity series. The new Apple Watch band combines symbolic design, sustainable materials, and precise craftsmanship. At the same time, the product remains part of a larger commitment that makes cultural diversity visible and provides concrete support for creative and social projects worldwide. (Image: Apple)
