Apple is expanding its retail presence in India with the opening of its sixth store in the country, Apple Borivali. This will also be its second location in Mumbai. The grand opening will take place on Thursday, February 26, at 1 p.m. IST. This move continues Apple's consistent expansion in the Indian market.
India is one of Apple's most strategically important markets. The country is the world's second-largest smartphone market. In recent years, CEO Tim Cook and other executives have repeatedly emphasized India's importance for the company's future growth.
Apple launched its official online store in India back in 2020. Since then, customers have been able to buy products directly from Apple without having to go through an authorized premium reseller. At the same time, its physical retail presence has been continuously expanded.
Apple Borivali: Location and Opening
The new Apple Store is located in the Sky City Mall in Borivali East. The mall is a large new shopping and entertainment complex. The location is directly off the Western Express Highway and in close proximity to the Devipada Metro Station in the Khande Rao Dongari district. This makes the store easily accessible by both car and public transportation.
Apple has already given a first look at the store and announced the official opening for Thursday, February 26th, at 1 p.m. IST.

Apple's expansion in India
With Apple Borivali, Apple now operates six stores in India. The first two locations opened in 2023: one in Mumbai (BKC) and one in Delhi (Saket). This was followed by expansion to Bengaluru (Hebbal) and Pune (Koregaon Park). An additional store opened in Noida in 2025.
The continuous expansion of the branch network shows that Apple is expanding its presence in India in the long term and strategically developing the market.
Team and service offerings at the Apple Store Borivali
The new Apple Store employs more than 70 team members. They provide advice on product selection, answer technical questions, and assist with setting up new devices. Services offered include:
- Apple Trade In
- Flexible financing options
- Secure data transfer
- Personal device setup
Apple Borivali thus offers not only the sale of hardware, but also comprehensive support throughout the Apple ecosystem.
Sustainability: Operation with renewable energy
Like all Apple facilities, Apple Borivali is powered by 100 percent renewable energy. The store is carbon neutral. Apple's global goal is to operate its locations sustainably and reduce CO₂ emissions.

Opening events
To celebrate the opening of Apple Borivali, Apple has compiled a special Apple Music playlist. Additionally, decorative wallpapers for iPhone, iPad, and Mac are available, designed specifically for this occasion.
Apple further expands its market position in India
With Apple Borivali, Apple is further strengthening its position in the Indian market. The new store in Mumbai complements existing locations and underscores India's strategic importance to the company. Alongside the expansion of its physical stores, the online store launched in 2020 remains a key component of Apple's strategy in India.
