Apple TV has released the first trailer for the fifth season of the award-winning and internationally acclaimed space drama "For All Mankind." The alternate history epic premieres worldwide on Apple TV on Friday, March 27. With a new decade and a new stage in the development of the Mars colony, the series continues its complex vision of the future.
Since its launch on November 1, 2019, Apple TV has stood for exclusive original content. The streaming service was the first provider worldwide to launch exclusively with original productions. In recent years, Apple TV has released more original hits and received more awards than any other streaming service.
To date, Apple Original films, documentaries, and series have been honored with 704 awards and 3,259 nominations. These include multiple Emmy Award-winning productions such as "The Studio" and "Ted Lasso," as well as the Oscar-winning film "CODA." "For All Mankind" is one of the core drama series in Apple TV's portfolio and has been among the service's most ambitious productions for years.
Season premiere and release schedule on Apple TV
The fifth season of "For All Mankind" consists of ten episodes. The first episode premieres worldwide on Apple TV on Friday, March 27. A new episode will then be released every Friday. The season finale is scheduled for May 29. All four previous seasons of the series are already available in their entirety on Apple TV.
Plot: The 2010s on Mars
The new season picks up in the 2010s, several years after the so-called Goldilocks asteroid theft. In this alternate timeline, Happy Valley on Mars has developed into a large, functioning colony. Thousands of people now live permanently on the Red Planet.
Happy Valley serves not only as a settlement but also as a base for further missions intended to venture even deeper into the solar system. At the same time, the political landscape is shifting. The nations of Earth are increasingly demanding law and order on Mars. This exacerbates tensions between the people living on Mars and their former home on Earth. The series once again explores political, social, and interpersonal conflicts, intertwining them with the ongoing expansion into space.
Creative direction and production
"For All Mankind" was developed by Emmy Award winner Ronald D. Moore and Emmy nominees Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi. Wolpert and Nedivi also serve as showrunners and executive producers alongside Moore.
Other executive producers include Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions, Kira Snyder, David Weddle, Bradley Thompson, and Seth Edelstein. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for Apple TV.

Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices, Chromecast with Google TV, and PlayStation and Xbox game consoles also allow access. Alternatively, Apple TV is available via tv.apple.com in a browser.
The subscription costs €9.99 per month. New subscribers receive a seven-day free trial. For a limited time, customers who purchase and activate a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV 4K, or Mac can use Apple TV free for three months.
