OpenAI has released a new update for its agent-based browser ChatGPT Atlas. The most important new feature: The browser now supports multiple ChatGPT accounts. This allows users to use different accounts separately for different areas such as personal life, work, or school.
This feature provides a better overview while browsing and makes it easier to organize various activities within the browser.
When OpenAI released the ChatGPT Atlas browser last year, many users quickly noticed that it was missing important features that are common in modern browsers.
The company responded with regular updates. New features were gradually integrated on an almost weekly release cycle to further develop the browser and make it more suitable for everyday use.
New features since launch
Over the past few months, OpenAI has introduced several improvements for ChatGPT Atlas. These include, among others:
- improved tab organization
- the import of extensions
- renaming tabs
- Tab groups for better overview
These features are designed to make working and browsing in the browser more structured.
Multiple ChatGPT accounts per profile
OpenAI had previously introduced a multi-profile function. This allows different profiles to be created for different usage scenarios.
However, one important feature was previously missing: the ability to log in with multiple ChatGPT accounts. This function has now been added with the latest update.

Now each profile can be linked to its own ChatGPT account. This allows for a clear separation of private, professional, and school activities.
Statement from the product management
According to Adam Fry, product manager for ChatGPT Atlas, the lack of support for multiple accounts was one of the biggest obstacles to using the browser in various areas of life.
This problem has now been fixed with the latest update.
Availability
The ChatGPT Atlas browser is currently only available for macOS.
