Apple today released the public betas of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26 ("Tahoe"), watchOS 26, and tvOS 26. This officially marks the start of the second phase of this year's beta cycle – following the introduction of the first developer betas following WWDC 2025. The public betas are aimed at all interested users who would like to test Apple's new software generation in advance.
To install the public beta, all you need is a free account in the Apple Beta Software Program. After signing up at beta.apple.com, you can save the beta profile to your device. Updates will then be available as usual via Software Update.
Content identical to the third developer beta
The public betas released today technically correspond to the fourth developer beta.

- iOS 26 Beta 3: All the new features in the third test version
Be careful when installing
Even though these are public test versions, the betas are not intended for daily use on primary devices. Apple explicitly points out that instability, bugs, or issues with third-party apps may occur. To be on the safe side, install the beta on a secondary device and create a full backup beforehand.
iOS 26 and Co.: Release in autumn – more betas to follow
The final version of iOS 26 and the other systems will be released this fall—as usual, alongside the new iPhone. Until then, Apple regularly releases new beta versions to add features, fix bugs, and improve stability. We'll keep you updated on all developments. Looking for new accessories?
