Apple is further expanding its immersive media offerings and introducing new films and series for Apple Vision Pro. In collaboration with international partners such as Audi, BBC, CANAL+, CNN, HYBE, MotoGP, and Red Bull, content is being created specifically for the Apple Immersive Video format. The goal: a realistic, spatial viewing experience with 180° 3D video in 8K and spatial audio. All content will be released exclusively for Apple Vision Pro and delivered via the Apple TV app.

With Apple Immersive, the company is taking the next step in the development of new media formats. The technical capabilities of Apple Vision Pro and collaborations with renowned production companies create the foundation for storytelling that is no longer limited to traditional screens. The films were shot with the new URSA Cine Immersive camera from Blackmagic Design and edited with DaVinci Resolve Studio on a Mac. This positions Apple not only as a device manufacturer, but also as a platform for high-quality immersive content.

Overview of new Apple Immersive productions

Tour De Force of CANAL+ and MotoGP

The documentary follows French MotoGP rider Johann Zarco as he takes his home victory at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans in May – an achievement that French fans have had to wait 71 years for. The production uses four URSA Cine Immersive cameras on tripods and Steadicams combined with Ambisonic microphones for recording Apple Spatial Audio. A mobile production station equipped with a Mac Studio (M3 Max), Pro Display XDR, and Apple Vision Pro was deployed directly at the racetrack to view and precisely shape the footage in real time. Post-production took place in Paris using identical equipment. An extended preview will be available from October at selected Apple Stores in France, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, the UK, and the US. The full film can already be viewed in the Apple TV app.

World of Red Bull

Red Bull is bringing its renowned action sports formats to the Apple Immersive universe. The first episode of the new series features "Backcountry Skiing" in the pristine mountains of Revelstoke, British Columbia. It follows freeskiers on extreme descents. The episode combines nature footage with personal insights into the athletes' preparation and emotions. The second episode, "Big-Wave Surfing," is planned for 2026 and will feature surfers attempting to conquer the world's most dangerous wave off the coast of Teahupoʻo, Tahiti. The release of "Backcountry Skiing" is scheduled for December.

A Night at the BBC Proms

With pianist Lukas Sternath's BBC Proms debut, Apple is offering the first classical concert in an immersive format. The BBC Symphony Orchestra performs Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor under the direction of Sakari Oramo. The film allows for a close-up spatial experience of the concert, including the acoustics of the Royal Albert Hall – a new experience for classical music fans.

Travel to Antarctica with CNN

CNN's Chief Climate Correspondent, Bill Weir, accompanies a scientific expedition to Snow Hill Island in Antarctica. There, the team encounters emperor penguins with their chicks and speaks with researchers about the effects of climate change and the challenges associated with expeditions to extremely remote regions. The immersive format allows for a particularly close, documentary-like portrayal.

Julaymba from PHORIA

The film depicts the history and environment of the Daintree Rainforest in northern Queensland, Australia. The film explores the region with the Eastern Kuku Yalanji people, including traditional ceremonies, storytelling, and nature observations. Julaymba, released in October, has received multiple awards. Waterfalls, glowing mushrooms, and cassowaries characterize the visual language of the film, which delves deeply into the connection between culture and nature.

Experience Paris with The Explorers

The film, from the platform The Explorers, focuses on French cultural heritage in Paris. It features a three-Michelin-starred kitchen, shots of the Eiffel Tower, and walks through Montmartre. The project combines historical and modern elements of the city with cinematic precision.

CORTIS by HYBE

CORTIS is the new K-pop boy band from BIGHIT MUSIC, the label behind BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. The film features exclusive scenes from the rehearsal room where the choreography for their debut song "GO!" was created. The production offers previously unseen insight into the creative process of a K-pop group.

New Apple-owned content

In addition to partner productions, Apple is also expanding its own range of immersive films. A new episode of Wild Life focuses on young orangutans being prepared for life in the jungle at a rehabilitation center in Borneo. The next episode of the Elevated series, narrated by Tim Robbins, will be released on October 3rd and features aerial shots of Maine in autumn, with coastlines, lakes, and forests awash in vibrant color. Already available Apple immersive titles include productions such as Submerged, The Weeknd: Open Hearts, and Metallica.

Technology, post-production and distribution

All films were shot using Blackmagic Design's URSA Cine Immersive camera, developed specifically for Apple. DaVinci Resolve Studio on a Mac was used for editing, color grading, and audio mixing. This allows Apple to support a completely in-house production pipeline from filming to release – including hardware, software, and delivery on its own platform. The Apple Vision Pro is now available in numerous countries, including Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States. A free screening can be booked at any participating Apple Store. New Apple Immersive content will appear in the Apple TV app for Vision Pro. It will initially be available in US English, with subtitles in other languages. In China, select titles can be accessed via the Migu Video and Tencent Video apps, which are available for download from the App Store.
