Pluribus Season 2: Filming starts in autumn 2026

Apple TV's hit series Pluribus, from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, is getting a second season. Actress Karolina Wydra has confirmed that filming is scheduled to begin in fall 2026.

Pluribus is one of Apple TV's most successful original productions and has built a dedicated fan base since the first season finale in early 2026. Until now, creator Vince Gilligan and lead actress Rhea Seehorn have only offered vague hints about the status of the second season – the writers are working on it, and patience is required. Now, actress Karolina Wydra, who plays Zosia in the series, provides a much more concrete update.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Wydra confirmed that filming for the second season of Pluribus is scheduled to begin in fall 2026. While an exact date hasn't been set, the timeframe is clear. This makes Pluribus, along with Severance, one of the Apple TV+ series whose next season is actively in development.

When will season 2 be released?

If filming starts as planned in the next five to seven months, a premiere date in autumn 2027 would be realistic – two years after the first season. A more pessimistic scenario would be early 2028, should production take longer than planned.

The timing overlap with Severance is interesting: Filming for the third season of the office thriller series is also about to begin, with a similarly expected release in late 2027. Whether Apple releases both series simultaneously or with a time gap will likely depend on how the overall Apple TV release schedule develops.

Pluribus and Apple TV

Pluribus is further proof that Apple TV is becoming increasingly competitive in the realm of high-quality original productions. The combination of Vince Gilligan's reputation as a series creator and the cast, including Rhea Seehorn, has given the platform a show that rivals the best offerings from Netflix and HBO in terms of both critical and audience acclaim.

The first season of Pluribus is available on Apple TV. A subscription costs €9.99 per month or is available at a discounted rate through the Apple One bundle. (Image: Apple)
