Apple replaces SEED with new Sales Coach App

Apple plans to release a revamped "Sales Coach" app for iPhone and iPad. The launch is scheduled for Monday, February 23. The application is intended exclusively for employees in Apple Stores and authorized Apple resellers worldwide. With this update, Apple is modernizing its existing training platform and adding new features.

Internal training and information systems play a central role in Apple's sales processes. Products are not only presented but also thoroughly explained. The new "Sales Coach" app is an update of the previous "SEED" app and remains an internal tool. Its goal remains to provide structured sales tips and product knowledge.

Additionally, "Sales Coach" is also being launched on the web at salescoach.apple.com. Access is also exclusively for Apple resellers and not publicly available (via MacRumors).

Release date and technical basis

The new app is scheduled for release on Monday, February 23rd. It functionally replaces the existing "SEED" app, but builds upon its core concept. The application will be available for iPhone and iPad.

The focus remains clear in terms of content: training materials and sales aids for employees in direct customer contact.

Content and training materials

Like the SEED app, "Sales Coach" also provides articles and videos. These cover a wide range of product and sales information, including:

  • Arguments for upgrading to a newer iPhone
  • Explanations of popular iPad features
  • Product knowledge about new devices like the iPhone Air
  • Function descriptions, such as for the instant hotspot function on the Mac

The content is designed to help employees answer customer questions precisely and structure sales arguments clearly.

Two key innovations

Compared to the previous SEED app, Apple is introducing two key changes.

  • New Liquid Glass design: The app receives a completely new "Liquid Glass" design. This visually and structurally overhauls the user interface. Apple is focusing on a more modern and streamlined design.
  • Planned AI chatbot: An AI chatbot will be integrated in a later update. This will be accessible via the "Ask" tab within the app.

Employees can ask the chatbot specific questions about Apple product knowledge. Examples include:

  • What are the main features of the iPhone Air?
  • How does the Instant Hotspot feature work on a Mac?

The chatbot is intended to provide sales tips and detailed product information. It is not yet confirmed whether Apple will use its own large-scale language model for this or rely on a third-party platform.

Differentiation from the Apple Support App

A similar chatbot has already been introduced in the Apple Support app. However, while this one is publicly accessible and aimed at end customers, "Sales Coach" remains an internal tool for sales partners.

Apple is modernizing its internal distribution system

With the new "Sales Coach" app, Apple is fundamentally updating its internal training system. The app replaces the previous SEED platform, retains its core functionality, and expands it with a new design and planned AI support.

The launch on February 23rd marks another step in Apple's internal sales strategy. Product knowledge, sales arguments, and digital support will be even more closely integrated in the future. (Image: Shutterstock / Only_NewPhoto)
