At the Apple TV Press Day 2026, Apple TV offered a first look at the new Apple Original Film, Outcome. The dark comedy, directed by Jonah Hill, will premiere worldwide on Apple TV on Friday, April 10, 2026. The film combines well-known Hollywood stars with a story that critically and humorously explores fame, image, and personal responsibility.
Since the launch of its streaming service, Apple TV has consistently pursued the goal of releasing only original content with a clear creative vision. "Outcome" fits into this strategy, employing a blend of dark humor, drama, and self-reflection. The film offers a glimpse behind the scenes of the film industry and tells a story that deliberately avoids big special effects, focusing instead on characters, dialogue, and personal development.
Plot of "Outcome"
The story centers on Reef Hawk, played by Keanu Reeves. Reef is an extremely successful and popular Hollywood star whose career and public image seem untouchable. This facade begins to crumble when he is blackmailed with a mysterious video. The footage has the potential to destroy his carefully constructed image and abruptly end his career.
To bring the situation under control, Reef begins to confront his own hidden demons. He embarks on a journey of self-discovery that takes him back into his past. His goal is to reconcile with people he may have wronged and, at the same time, uncover who is behind the blackmail. Confronting past decisions is portrayed as a necessary step to secure a possible future.

Central characters and cast
Reef Hawk is accompanied on his journey by two lifelong friends. Kyle, played by Cameron Diaz, and Xander, portrayed by Matt Bomer, support him both emotionally and practically. The trio is completed by crisis lawyer Ira, played by Jonah Hill himself, who tries to contain the looming scandal legally and strategically.
Besides the main actors, the cast includes a host of other well-known names. These include Martin Scorsese, Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood Jr., Kaia Gerber, Ivy Wolk, and others. The cast brings together actors from different generations and genres.

Directing, screenwriting and production
Jonah Hill plays multiple roles in "Outcome." He is a co-writer, director, and part of the cast. The screenplay was written in collaboration with Ezra Woods. Hill describes the protagonist's journey as wild, nostalgic, spiritually cleansing, and eye-opening. The confrontation with his own past is portrayed as a central turning point, crucial both personally and professionally.
The film was produced for Apple Studios by Matt Dines, Alison Goodwin, and Jonah Hill under the Strong Baby label. Adam Merims is involved as an executive producer. "Outcome" was thus conceived and produced entirely as an Apple Original Film.
Apple TV as a platform
Apple TV offers drama and comedy series, feature films, documentaries, and content for children and families. The service launched on November 1, 2019, and was the first global streaming service to offer exclusively original content. Since then, Apple Original films, series, and documentaries have garnered a total of 691 awards and 3,256 nominations. Among its most well-known productions are the multiple Emmy Award-winning series "The Studio" and "Ted Lasso," as well as the Oscar-winning film "CODA.".
Apple TV is available through the Apple TV app in more than 100 countries and regions on over one billion screens. Alternatively, the service can be accessed at tv.apple.com. The subscription costs €9.99 per month and includes a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. Purchasers of a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV 4K, or Mac can use Apple TV free for three months, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
"Outcome": A dark comedy about fame and image on Apple TV
With "Outcome," Apple TV expands its offerings with a dark comedy that explores the downsides of fame and public perception. The film combines a prominent cast with a personal, sometimes self-critical narrative, focusing on character development rather than classic Hollywood dramaturgy. Its worldwide release on April 10, 2026, makes "Outcome" a central part of Apple TV's programming and underscores the platform's commitment to releasing original films with clear and compelling content.
