There have already been rumors about iPhones, iPads and various MacBooks. But the iMac and Mac mini have remained unmentioned - until today. A well-known leaker is back.
When will Apple introduce the iMac in a new design? A question that fans have been asking for a long time. It is still unclear whether the long-awaited design update will appear this year. But a new model is expected. The anonymous Twitter user CoinX - known as an Apple leaker - has spoken out again. The account is known for revealing upcoming Apple products in advance. At least that's how it was with the last two iPhone generations. Now he has come forward with a new, somewhat cryptic, message. According to CoinX, Apple is planning an update to the iMac and Mac mini. According to CoinX, both devices will be released very soon. However, he did not give any exact details. Apple last gave the Mac mini a major update in 2018, as the last update took place in 2014. The 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs were updated in the spring of last year. These received 6- and 8-core Intel CPUs as well as new Radeon Pro Vega graphics options.
New iPad Pro models also appear
Whether Apple will release a comprehensive update to both devices remains unknown. It will likely be a performance-focused update, which Apple is known to announce via press releases. In the wake of today's tweets, CoinX confirmed reports that new iPad Pro models are to be released. According to the report, in addition to a significant performance boost, the camera will also be redesigned. This means that the new professional tablet will receive the same camera module as the iPhone 11 Pro – with the only difference being that the new camera will feature a 3D sensor based on Time-of-Flight technology. CoinX did not give a specific launch date. The new iPad Pro series is generally expected to be unveiled this month. Apple has reportedly planned a keynote speech for March 31. Whether the event will actually take place remains to be seen. Cupertino could also cancel the event due to the coronavirus. If that is the case, the presentation of the new products could take place in front of selected members of the press or via a "simple" press release. (Photo by Ruslan Ivantsov / Bigstockphoto)
