Rumors about upcoming iPhones are piling up. But in addition to the iPhone 2020 lineup, reports about the iPhone 2021 series are also emerging.
The well-known TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo issued a comprehensive note to investors yesterday. In it, he announced the presentation of various products, including three new ones, in the first half of 2020. But Kuo went a step further and also repeated a very interesting remark about the entry-level iPhone in 2021. According to him, Apple could present another "iPhone SE 2"-like device in the first half of 2021. This should also have an LCD screen and Touch ID. But the biometric recognition technology could be integrated into the standby button for the first time.
iPhone SE 2 Plus version
Kuo has already a few weeks a Plus version of the iPhone SE successor with this technology in full-screen style. According to his knowledge, this could appear in spring 2021. That means we read this statement not for the first time about the continuation of the entry-level series with the newly placed Touch ID sensor. There are also rumors that Apple is planning two iPhone events per year from 2021. Entry-level models are to be presented in the first half of the year, while the premium devices will appear in the second half of the year.
iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2?
This year – in March to be precise – a successor to the iPhone SE is expected. The name of the device is still unclear. Observers rule out the name “iPhone SE 2” because the device is said to be based on the iPhone 8 design. They believe that Apple will market the model under the name “iPhone 9”. Of course, a completely different name is not out of the question. But there is agreement on the specifications. The device will have the A13 chip with 3 GB of RAM and a camera with a lens on the back. The Touch ID sensor will be integrated into the home button, as was the case with the iPhone 8.
