Apple unveiled new MacBook Pro models, AirPods 3, and new color options for the HomePod mini at its "Unleashed" event. Now, a leaker reports that Apple has completed its major hardware product announcements for 2021 with the latest event.
Rumours have it that Apple is preparing a number of new products, including a larger Apple Silicon iMac and a new iPhone SE, as well as a brand new MacBook Air. However, none of these products are expected to be released this year. reported Mark Gurman in his latest newsletter. According to him, things aren't expected to continue until 2022. If another Mac had been ready for release in the last three months of 2021, Apple would have unveiled it at the "Unleashed" event, Gurman concludes, adding that nothing else on the company's roadmap is ready for launch before 2022.
Apple Event: It continues in 2022
Looking ahead, Gurman explains that a redesigned MacBook Air is on the horizon, scheduled for release in six to eight months. Rumors suggest the thin and light device will feature a new "M2" chip, a mini-LED display, a 1080p camera, MagSafe, various color options, and more. The next-generation iPad Pro could also launch in the second quarter of 2022. The Cupertino tech giant is also expected to transition the rest of its Mac lineup—the 27-inch iMac and Mac Pro—from Intel chips to the M series. The company says it is working feverishly to transition its Mac lineup to Apple Silicon by 2022 and is well on schedule so far. (Image: Apple)
