When the iPad Pro was introduced in 2018, there was great excitement. But a new "scandal" quickly emerged. Some users received a bent device, while others noticed slight bends later in use. Now, there's a successor model.
The issue was known at the time as "iPad Pro BentGate." Some users received their 2018 iPad Pros already bent, while others noticed signs of bending after a few days or weeks of use. Other users still haven't been able to reproduce the problem – including us. After lengthy discussions, Apple finally responded. The company noted that the slight bend was within operating tolerance. Our report from December 20, 2018:
According to Apple, a slight bend in the casing may occur as a result of the manufacturing process. This is normal and will not cause any problems. The bend will not worsen over time, which is why users can use their iPad Pro without any concerns - according to Apple.

The reason for this is the new and, above all, thin aluminum casing. But now the question arises as to what the iPad Pro 2020 looks like. Has Apple reinforced the back? Youtuber EverythingApplePro tried it out. Admittedly, watching the video is really painful. No one who is still sane would do that, but never mind - someone has to do the test, right? Thanks EverythingApplePro! Basically, the video starts off really harmlessly, but from minute four onwards it becomes painful. As you can see, the iPad Pro 2020 seems to bend with little effort, just like its predecessor. Accordingly, the structure has not been reinforced. The conclusion: If you carry your iPad Pro in your backpack, you should not go without a case. Whether users will complain again remains to be seen. But please remember: The trend is moving towards foldable smartphones - so why not a foldable iPad? Everyone starts small. The new iPad Pro is available in 11- and 12.9-inch sizes with 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB in space gray or silver. While the 11-inch model is available from 879 euros, the 12.9-inch starts at 1,099 euros. Both devices can be purchased from Apple's online shop. (Image: EverythingApplePro)
