It's rare but it happens. Apple is dealing with a major server outage - but not everyone seems to be affected.

Many users are currently unable to use Apple's various services - even Apple Store purchases are currently not possible. Problems with iCloud login, calendar, contacts, mail and other services are also present. On Apple's official system status page The individual outages are highlighted. All iCloud services were temporarily affected by the disruption. The server outage affected not only the company's own cloud services but also developer tools and third-party applications.

Apple Store purchases not possible

Apple Pay is also said to be unusable for some users. The disruption has also paralyzed individual Apple Stores around the world, so purchases are currently not possible. It is currently unknown how long the disruption will last - it can of course be assumed that Apple is already working on fixing the problem. Apple devices here aren't test units for a fortnight but everyday tools: from the iPhone to the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iMac through to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it goes live.
