Apple has now launched this year's "Back to School" campaign in Germany. Following the launch in the US, eligible buyers in Germany can now also benefit from the annual summer promotion. The focus is once again not on direct discounts on devices, but on free or discounted extras with the purchase of select products.
For years, Apple has been offering accessories as bonuses in its educational promotions. Anyone who buys a MacBook, iPad, or iMac will receive products like AirPods or the Magic Keyboard, depending on the model chosen. The terms and conditions are virtually unchanged from previous years. Apple remains true to its usual approach and is targeting the offer exclusively to people with educational credentials.
Accessories instead of discounts: How the promotion works
The "Back to School" promotion doesn't offer discounts on the devices themselves. Instead, accessories are available for free or at significantly reduced prices. The type of extra depends on the product purchased.
- iPad promotion: Choice between Apple Pencil and AirPods: Anyone who buys an iPad Air or iPad Pro has several accessories to choose from. They can get either an Apple Pencil Pro or AirPods 4 for no extra charge. Those who prefer the AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation will pay an additional €50. Alternatively, the AirPods Pro 2 is available for €130. Apple also offers the Magic Keyboard.
- MacBook offer: Save up to €199 on accessories: Apple offers a discount on select accessories when you purchase a MacBook. The maximum discount is €199. The Magic Mouse is at the lower end, with a savings of €119. The Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad offers the highest price saving of €199. The AirPods Pro 2 are also available here – for an additional €80.
- iMac: Two headphone options to choose from: Those who choose an iMac also get accessories included – but the choice is limited to two options. You can get either the free AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation or the AirPods Pro 2 for an additional €80.
Eligibility: Who can participate
Only individuals with a connection to the education sector are eligible to participate. This includes university students, their parents, and employees of public and private educational institutions. Apple requires valid proof of eligibility. Free access to the Education Shop, which was previously partially possible, is no longer available.
Return and exchange: Please note the conditions
Anyone returning a device must also return the accessory product received. Otherwise, the corresponding discount will be deducted from the refund amount. Special rules apply to exchanges: If the new accessory is more expensive than the original purchase, the difference must be paid.
“Back to School” campaign: If you need a device, you can save on accessories
The "Back to School" campaign 2025 once again brings attractive benefits for everyone involved in education. While there are no discounts on the core products, the included accessories are high-quality and, depending on the selection, can save you a significant amount of money. This offer is a particularly good opportunity for students or teachers who are already considering a new purchase. (Image: Shutterstock / Gilangpnp)
