Apple has officially confirmed the schedule for the Worldwide Developers Conference 2025. The event will run from June 9-13 and, as in previous years, will be held online. While WWDC is primarily aimed at developers, the opening keynote is now also of interest to the general public. Here, Apple will showcase what users of iPhone, Mac, iPad, and other devices can expect in the coming months.

The keynote will take place on Monday, June 9, at 7 p.m. German time. Apple remains true to its typical schedule. This will be followed by the "Platforms State of the Union" session for developers at 10 p.m. – a session in which Apple will discuss technical innovations in more detail. Much of the focus this year will be on new software versions. No new hardware has been announced at this time, although some rumors are circulating.

What Apple is presenting at WWDC 2025

New operating systems in focus

Apple will debut macOS 16, iOS 19, iPadOS 19, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, and visionOS 3 at the keynote. According to various sources, macOS, iOS, and iPadOS will receive a redesigned user interface. This isn't just about new icons or colors, but a deeper graphical and functional redesign. A central element is said to be a design style reminiscent of the glass look of visionOS. Apple itself hasn't released any concrete information on this yet, but various reports point in this direction. Apple's invitation graphics could also hint at this new look.

Technical sessions for developers

In addition to the keynote, Apple will offer over 100 expert presentations covering new technologies and features. Developers enrolled in the Apple Developer Program can also sign up for group or individual sessions. These sessions allow them to speak directly with Apple developers, ask questions, and get help with technical challenges. Apple has not yet released details about the session content to avoid any predictions about the features presented before the keynote.

Rumors about new hardware

The chances of new hardware being unveiled at WWDC 2025 are rather slim. The most likely scenario would be an update to the Mac Pro, although there is no reliable information on this yet. Another rumored candidate is a HomePod with an integrated display. However, Apple has reportedly postponed its market launch because the new version of Siri isn't yet ready for use. Apple itself has communicated internally that development has been delayed. Therefore, a presentation during WWDC is not expected.

Software is the focus, hardware remains secondary

WWDC 2025 will – as things stand – be primarily a software event. Apple is focusing on its operating systems and on close collaboration with the developer community. New designs, potentially new user concepts, and over 100 sessions on current technologies make the event particularly interesting for developers. Users hoping for fresh hardware will likely have to wait a bit longer. If you're interested in the Apple ecosystem or are a developer yourself, it's worth watching the keynote on June 9th at 7 p.m. There you'll learn firsthand how the iPhone, iPad, and Mac will change in the coming months.
