The new version is intended to be more stable, intuitive, and efficient. Apple is committed to giving users more flexibility in managing their windows. The Mac version is likely based on the improvements also planned for iPadOS 19. The idea behind it is clear: a unified multitasking concept across both platforms.
Vehicle Motion Cues on the Mac
A rather surprising, but certainly useful, feature is the introduction of Vehicle Motion Cues on the Mac. This feature was previously available on iPhone and iPad and helps reduce motion sickness when working in the car. The idea is simple: Looking at a screen in a moving car can make you feel nauseous because your eyes and sense of balance receive conflicting signals. Apple solves this by displaying small, moving dots at the edge of the screen that visualize the vehicle's movement. With macOS 16, this feature is now also available on the Mac. This is especially useful for anyone who works in the passenger seat or uses their Mac as a screen in the car. Vehicle Motion Cues could make a real difference in these cases.
