Apple is preparing for its next big fall event. On Tuesday, September 9, the company will traditionally unveil new products. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman has already summarized his expectations. Supplemented by leaks and hints from the past few months, a clear picture emerges of what to expect next week.
The September event has been one of the most important dates in Apple's calendar for years. This time, it's becoming clear that the focus will be not just on the iPhone, but on several product lines. New chips, camera improvements, slimmer designs, and clever features for the Apple Watch and AirPods dominate the agenda. One thing is already clear: Apple wants to further develop the entire ecosystem.
iPhone 17: More display, more performance
The iPhone 17 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display including ProMotion technology. The new A19 chip provides increased processing power. The device will be available in a sky blue color option and will rely exclusively on eSIM. Apple will also install the new C1 modem, which is expected to deliver improved network quality.
iPhone 17 Air: It can hardly get any thinner
At just 5.5 millimeters thick, the iPhone 17 Air sets a new record. Despite its 6.6-inch ProMotion display, Apple forgoes a multi-camera setup and opts for a single lens. The trade-off: shorter battery life. This model also runs on the A19 chip and replaces the physical SIM card with an eSIM.
iPhone 17 Pro: Camera in focus
The Pro models stand out clearly. The new camera bump, designed in the style of a runway, is striking. The most important innovation: a 48-megapixel telephoto lens, which replaces the previous 12-megapixel version. This is complemented by a variable aperture system. The ability to record videos simultaneously with both the front and rear cameras is exciting. The back also features a new, larger notch for wireless charging. Inside is the A19 Pro chip, which further boosts performance and enables extended battery life. The models come with aluminum frames and a new color: orange.
Apple Watch Ultra 3: Robust and connected
The third generation of the Apple Watch Ultra features a slightly larger display, matching the Series 10. It also features the S11 chip, 5G RedCap cellular, and satellite connectivity. This makes the watch even more geared toward extreme situations and outdoor use.
Apple Watch Series 11: Brighter and more diverse
The Apple Watch Series 11 is expected to have a brighter screen. There will also be new colors and bands, broadening the selection.
Apple Watch SE: More power in the entry-level model
The entry-level model is also being updated. The Apple Watch SE gets a new display and a faster chip, but remains the most affordable option in the lineup.
AirPods Pro 3: Smart features
The AirPods Pro are entering their third generation. A new feature is an integrated heart rate monitor. The charging case is smaller, making it compatible with the upcoming AirPods 4. Particularly noteworthy is the introduction of live translation, which opens up new possibilities in everyday life and while traveling.
Accessories: More than accessories
In addition to the devices, Apple is also releasing new accessories. These include a redesigned leather-free case that replaces the poorly received FineWoven models. A bumper case in the style of the iPhone 4 is coming to the iPhone 17 Air. The design team is also working on a high-quality shoulder strap that is explicitly positioned as a premium product.
