Apple Fitness+ introduces German and much more

Apple Fitness+ German

Apple Fitness+ is expanding its reach more than ever before. The fitness and wellness service is launching in 28 new countries and adding digital synchronization in Spanish, German, and Japanese. It also introduces a new music genre, a wide range of workout and meditation content, and additional features designed to structure and motivate training. This makes Apple Fitness+ a truly global service that can be used anywhere, regardless of location or experience level.

For five years, Apple Fitness+ has been an integral part of the Apple ecosystem. The idea behind it is simple: to make workouts and meditation possible anytime, anywhere, using iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. With its largest international expansion since launch, Apple is now demonstrating just how much the service has evolved. In addition to new countries, more people are gaining access to synchronized content, a wider music selection, and features that make planning workouts easier. The following sections provide a complete overview of all the new features and terms and conditions.

Apple Fitness+ is coming to 28 new countries

Starting December 15, Apple Fitness+ will be available in 28 additional countries. These include Chile, Hong Kong, India, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, and numerous other markets. Japan will follow early next year. Together with the existing regions, the service will grow to 49 countries and regions worldwide.

The service's twelve workout types are available in all markets. These include strength training, yoga, HIIT, Pilates, dance, cycling, kickboxing, treadmill running, rowing, and meditation. Each session lasts between five and 45 minutes and can be used on iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV.

Digital dubbing for Spanish, German and Japanese

For the first time, Apple is offering digitally synchronized workouts and meditations. The content will be available in Spanish and German starting December 15, based on a generated voice built upon the original voice of each of the 28 Fitness+ trainers. Japanese dubbing will follow early next year. New synchronized episodes will be added weekly. After starting an episode, users can select their preferred language using the audio controller. If Spanish, German, or Japanese is set in the Fitness app settings, the episode will automatically start in that language, provided synchronization is available.

K-Pop is added as a music genre

Apple Fitness+ is getting a new music genre. K-Pop will now be available for all types of workouts, expanding the existing music selection, which already includes genres like Upbeat Anthems, Latest Hits, Hip-Hop/R&B, and Latin Grooves. This increases the range of motivating playlists and soundscapes that can be used for workouts.

More ways to stay motivated

Apple Fitness+ supports the creation of personalized workout plans with Custom Plans. These plans are based on preferred activities, desired duration, favorite music, selected trainers, and other criteria. The feature automatically generates a schedule from this information.

Other predefined paths make it easier to get started. Stay Consistent offers a fixed weekly plan to help maintain a routine. Push Further increases workout time or adds extra sessions, ideal for those seeking more of a challenge. Get Started helps users get started and is aimed at those new to Apple Fitness+ or those who want to try out the activities they selected at the beginning of their subscription.

The Artist Spotlight series focuses on complete playlists from individual artists. These include Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, BTS, Selena Gomez, and Coldplay.

In addition, there are the audio experiences Time to Walk and Time to Run. Time to Walk accompanies walks with stories, photos, and songs from well-known personalities such as Naomi Campbell, Camila Cabello, Simu Liu, Daddy Yankee, Shawn Mendes, Jane Fonda, or, in the current episode, Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda. Time to Run focuses on running routes in famous locations worldwide.

Collections offers curated compilations of workouts and meditations. Examples include Run Your First 5K, Pilates for More Than Your Core, No Shoes Workouts, and So Fresh! 90s Dance. In addition, twelve meditation themes are available, including Calm, Sleep, and Sound. They teach simple techniques for more energy, inner balance, and mindfulness in everyday life.

A deep look at technology and integration

Apple Fitness+ uses the tight connection to Apple Watch and AirPods Pro 3 to display real-time metrics during workouts. These include heart rate, calories burned, Activity ring progress, and the Burn Bar. The Burn Bar compares your performance to others doing the same workout. It's available for HIIT, cycling, kickboxing, treadmill, and rowing workouts.

When you start a workout in Apple Fitness+, the workout automatically begins on your Apple Watch. The metrics then appear directly on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV. Heart rate tracking with AirPods Pro 3 and Powerbeats Pro 2 is supported by the Fitness app when using an iPhone with iOS 26, an iPad with iPadOS 26, or an Apple TV with tvOS 26, and when the devices are paired with the iPhone.

Prices, requirements and free offers

Apple Fitness+ costs €9.99 per month or €79.99 per year. The subscription can be shared with up to five other family members.

The service is already available in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States. New markets include Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Finland, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Japan, the Netherlands, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Venezuela, and Vietnam. Japan will receive the service early next year.

Digital synchronization for German and Spanish requires iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, and tvOS 26.1. Japanese dubbing will be enabled upon launch in Japan.

Purchase a new Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad or Apple TV with the latest software, as well as AirPods Pro 3 or Powerbeats Pro 2, and receive three months of Apple Fitness+ for free.

To use the service, you need an iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16.1 or later. Alternatively, Apple Fitness+ works with an Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 7.2, paired with an iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14.3 or later.

Greater reach and more options in Apple Fitness+

Apple Fitness+ continues to expand its position as a comprehensive fitness and wellness service. International expansion, new synchronization features, additional music genres, enhanced personalization, and tighter technical integration make the service more versatile and accessible. It's evolving into a flexible solution for anyone who wants to easily incorporate exercise and mindfulness into their daily routine, regardless of location or experience level. (Image: Apple)
