The Control Center on your Apple Watch is a crucial feature that allows you to quickly access important functions. With the introduction of watchOS 10, there have been some important changes that need to be mastered. Below, we'll walk you through the new features and show you how to get the most out of your Control Center.

Control Center has been an integral part of the operating system since the first Apple Watch. However, watchOS 10 has made significant adjustments that change the way you access and use Control Center. This may take some getting used to at first, but don't worry—you'll find all the information you need here.

Access to the Control Center

Control Center is no longer accessed by swiping up from the bottom, but by pressing the flat button on the right side of your Apple Watch. This change aims to simplify access to widgets, which now appear by swiping up.

Control Center Customization

Customizing your Control Center has become easier. At the bottom of the list in Control Center, you'll find the Edit button that lets you add, remove, or rearrange icons:

  • Add symbols: Scroll to the bottom of the list in edit mode to find symbols that are available but not yet added.
  • Remove icons: Press the minus symbol at the top of an icon to remove it.
  • Rearrange icons: Press and hold an icon and move it to the desired position.

Important functions of the Control Center

Some of the most useful features in Control Center are:

  • Ping iPhone: An icon depicting a vibrating iPhone that allows you to locate your lost iPhone.
  • Theater Mode: The icon with two masks that prevents your watch from lighting up in the theater or similar events.

Tips for use

  • Avoid long pressing the side button: This could accidentally activate Medical ID or the SOS emergency call.
  • Use the Digital Crown: Use the Digital Crown to quickly scroll through the Control Center.
