According to various reports, the iPhone SE 3 will be unveiled in spring 2022. In terms of design and features, many reports have contradicted each other so far. Now there are new details.

While some sources claim that the iPhone SE 3 will resemble its predecessor on the outside, others claim to have learned that the device will undergo a redesign. The Chinese website MyDrivers has now published a new report has spoken out and supports the redesign forecast. According to the report, the iPhone SE 3 will have an iPhone XR-like design with Touch ID and will be the company's last iPhone with an LCD display. This means that the device will have Touch ID in the side button, just like the iPad Air 4 and iPad mini 6.

The last iPhone with LCD?

It is also expected to be released with 5G connectivity and the A15 chip. The report emphasizes that the device is expected to be the last iPhone with an LCD display. In the wake of this, MyDrivers acknowledged that this claim is contrary to other recent rumors that the third-generation iPhone SE will retain the design of the current second-generation model, but insisted that it is correct. The iPhone SE currently has the same design as the now-discontinued iPhone 8 and features a Touch ID scanner integrated into the home button. The rumors about the entry-level model are quite contradictory.

iPhone SE 3: Can we expect a major update?

Originally, analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Ross Young claimed that the device would have a 6.1-inch display with Touch ID in the side button. At some point, both retracted their forecast and explained that the third generation will probably only be upgraded on the inside. A redesign is planned for the fourth generation. In the meantime, however, there have been leakers who have also spoken of a new look. As the information is still contradictory, rumors about the iPhone SE 3 should be treated with great caution.
