The next generation MacBook Air is expected to have some features of the upcoming MacBook Pro models. But it is also expected to follow the example of the iMac 24″.
The upcoming MacBook Air models will have a design that is “quite similar” to the new MacBook Pros. However, they will appear with a thinner chassis, white borders, and without the wedge shape that reported the leaker Dylandkt. The new version will be available in similar color options as the 24-inch iMac. According to the leaker, the keyboard will be the same color as the bezels and will have full-size function keys and a 1080p webcam. Unlike the Pro models, the Air version will be released without an SD card slot and HDMI port. The M2 chip, the successor to the M1, will be used as the heart of the update.

MacBook Air 2022: Mini LED display without ProMotion?
Although the name might suggest it, the M2 won't be as powerful as the M1 Pro and M1 Max. Specifically, it's rumored that the M2 chip will have the same number of processing cores—eight—but nine or 10 graphics cores instead of seven or eight. Apple is also developing a 30-watt power supply for the new device, which, like its predecessor, will be fanless. Previous rumors have also suggested the use of a mini-LED display. Dylandkt says it's possible. At the same time, however, it's very unlikely that the device will also feature ProMotion technology. Regarding the naming, Apple is considering simply introducing the device as a "MacBook," without the "Air" prefix. (Image: Jon Prosser x Rendersbyan)
