If you want to know what Apple is planning for the next iPhone generation, it's worth taking a look at the latest dummy models. Well-known Apple leaker Sonny Dickson has published images of the entire iPhone 17 series – showing all four models in black and white. Included are the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. These dummies provide a realistic impression of the design and dispel some previous rumors.

The iPhone 17 series will again consist of four models. The iPhone 17 forms the base. These will be joined by the new iPhone 17 Air, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The dummy models provide clear details about the camera arrangement, the casing, and possible design changes—or lack thereof.

The models at a glance

The pictures of Sonny Dickson show All four iPhone 17 variants side by side. The black and white display clearly shows how the individual models differ – especially in the camera unit. What's striking is that the previously assumed all-black camera bar on the Pro models hasn't been confirmed. Instead, the bar matches the color of the casing. So, a black iPhone has a black bar, a white model has a white one. This creates a more harmonious overall effect.

No design change to the standard model

With the iPhone 17, Apple is sticking with its familiar design. Compared to the iPhone 16, there are no visible differences. Those who liked the previous casing will immediately feel at home here. It remains classic, solid, and unchanged.

iPhone 17 Air brings fresh design

With the iPhone 17 Air, Apple is introducing a completely new model. It replaces the iPhone 16 Plus, but not only brings a new name, but also a completely new design. The shape is distinctive and clearly different from the other models. This gives you a new option if you want a larger iPhone but don't want to jump straight to the Pro Max. The Air model isn't just a rebranding, but a true newcomer with its own unique look.

Revised design of the iPhone 17 Pro

The iPhone 17 Pro also features visible changes. The camera bar has been redesigned and now stands out significantly – not only visually, but also in shape. Previous rumors suggested a unibody design, with aluminum seamlessly extending from the sides to the back. However, this design is not found in the dummy models. The case remains split, with a metal frame and a glass back. The new camera bar adapts to the respective case color, which makes the overall look much more harmonious. Especially if you value design, the Pro model might be more interesting for you.

iPhone 17: New design for Air and Pro – standard remains classic

The dummy models of the iPhone 17 give you a clear impression of how Apple is structuring the new generation. With the iPhone 17, everything remains the same – no new design, no surprises. There's significantly more going on with the iPhone 17 Pro and the new iPhone 17 Air. Both feature a new casing design and are visually distinct from last year's. The Air brings a breath of fresh air to the mid-range and could fill the gap between the standard model and the Pro better than the old Plus model. If you're looking for an iPhone that stands out visually, the Pro or Air are the most exciting options for you. For those who prefer the familiar design, the iPhone 17 remains a safe choice.
