There have been rumors about Apple AR glasses since 2017 - all sorts of things have been reported. But now a launch date has been set.

Will Apple introduce AR glasses? Fans have often asked themselves this question in recent years. At one point it was even claimed that Apple had stopped developing such a product. But the Golden Master of iOS 13 made the hearts of augmented reality fans beat faster a few weeks ago. Hackers found code snippets in iOS 13 that partially exposed iGlasses. Now there is also supposed to be a date. The well-known TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has commented on Apple's 2020 plans in a comprehensive report. According to his latest information, Apple's new AR glasses will go into mass production at the end of this year.

New iPhone accessory

The market launch is scheduled for early 2020. Apple's augmented reality glasses are set to enter the race as an iPhone accessory - according to Kuo. They will function as an external display - similar to CarPlay. So while the iPhone processes the data, the glasses will take on the role of a time screen.

The operating system could also be called "rOS" - it is said to be based on iOS and stands for "reality operating system". What specific tasks the new Apple glasses will perform and in which areas they will actually prove useful remains to be seen. (Photo by jamesteoh / Bigstockphoto)
