The Taiwanese news site DigiTimes has yesterday, citing Sources from the supply chain claim that Apple is close to moving into the "second phase" of developing augmented reality glasses. Now there are more details.

Apple's hotly debated AR glasses are said to DigiTimes according to move into the "second phase" of development. Then, in a few months, the transition to the third phase will take place. After the prototype design is completed, the wearable device will go through a six to nine month technical verification phase. Apple wants to focus on improving the weight and battery life of the device. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has already claimed that the glasses will be lightweight.

Apple AR/VR projects: Will the headset appear before the AR glasses?

In an earlier report, the journalist explained that Apple's glasses can display information such as text messages and maps in front of the wearer's eyes. Users will also be able to control the product with Siri. In addition, the headset and glasses will have their own app store. According to Gurman's source, the product could be released in 2023. Apple has repeatedly described augmented reality as a "profound" technology. Apple is believed to be working on several AR/VR projects, including a headset with an app store. In an internal meeting, Apple reportedly said the headset could be announced in 2021 and released in 2022. (Photo by World Image / Bigstockphoto)
