While we wait for the launch of the Apple Watch Series 7, reports about the Apple Watch Series 8 are now being documented. Now, one analyst claims that the next generation could come in three sizes.

According to display analyst Ross Young, the Apple Watch Series 8 could be available in three sizes. explained he tweeted that people shouldn't be surprised "if there are three sizes next year." Young did not give any details. Based on his statements, however, it is possible that in addition to the 41 mm and 45 mm versions, a third option that is even larger will appear. Apple slightly changed the design of the Apple Watch Series 7 in 2021 and offers it in 41 mm and 45 mm case sizes. Previous Apple Watch models were available in sizes 38 mm, 40 mm, 42 mm, and 44 mm, with the increases in size accompanied by reduced bezels and larger displays. In addition, each generation has only been available in two sizes so far. This would be the first time that users could choose between three options.

Apple Watch Series 8: Will a “rugged model” also be introduced?

Interestingly, this is not the first report to discuss the Apple Watch Series 8. Months ago, speculation was already rife about the 2022 models in addition to the Series 7. In addition to aluminum, stainless steel and titanium versions, a rugged model A model with a "more robust case" that is primarily intended for athletes or even hikers who wear the watch in more extreme conditions than in everyday life. This version could even have its own temperature sensor. In addition, the next model is said to have new health functions. Blood sugar measurement for diabetics is conceivable here. Whether this will actually happen in the end remains to be seen, of course. After all, we are still almost a year away from the launch. (Photo by Unsplash / Howard Bouchevereau)
