Rumors about a new Apple TV have been documented for months. Now there is a new report that supports previous information.
Rumors surrounding the sixth generation of Apple TV have been persistent for a long time. Clues in the tvOS 14 code have fueled the excitement. Now, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has addressed the topic again in his newsletter "Fully Charged" and provided details. According to the report, Apple plans to introduce a brand-new Apple TV with a focus on gaming and an updated remote sometime next year. It will also feature a new processor. Gurman has already hinted that Apple is working on a new remote with "Find My"-like capabilities, which should help locate the device if it's misplaced. As part of the gaming focus, there have also been rumors that Apple might introduce a dedicated gaming controller for the new Apple TV. However, its design remains unclear.
Apple TV 6: Will console-quality games be available?
Earlier this year, the anonymous Twitter account "Fudge" suggested that Apple had developed prototypes of new Apple TV models with variants of the A12 and A14 chips for faster performance. If this information is correct, it remains to be seen whether there will ultimately be two new models. Furthermore, Fudge stated that Apple will be able to run games in console quality for Apple Arcade. However, these are not compatible with the current Apple TV models compatible. According to his information, these games are comparable to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, among others. There are also rumors that the new model will have 64 GB or 128 GB. It remains to be seen whether the rumor mill will be right in the end. However, the fact is that several independent sources have already reported the same details.
