Apple is reportedly testing the unreleased Apple Silicon Mac Pro with a version of macOS Ventura that is expected to be released in the spring – macOS 13.3.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg confirmed his recent reports that Apple is working on an M2 Ultra version of the Mac Pro and now expects a spring launch for this latest Mac to switch to Apple Silicon. Gurman is basing this on Apple's current developer beta, macOS Ventura 13.2. A 13.3 version is expected soon, although there is no exact timeline.
Is the new Apple Silicon Mac Pro ready to launch?
It's also no guarantee that testing a Mac Pro with macOS 13.3 means the device will be released with the operating system. However, it does indicate that the Mac Pro won't be able to run macOS 13.2, which is consistent with the need for new devices to support the latest operating system. The Mac Pro is the only Mac currently powered by an Intel processor. During its spring 2022 events, Apple hinted that the refresh was coming. However, recent reports indicate that plans for an M2 "Extreme" have been scaled back. (Photo by Unsplash / Nana Dua)
