The next World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC 2020) will start in just under two weeks. iOS 14, iPadOS 14, tvOS 14, watchOS 7 and macOS 10.16 are expected. But in addition to software, hardware will also be presented.

A new Bloomberg According to reports, Apple is expected to announce the transition from Intel to its own ARM chips at this year's WWDC 2020. Since Apple has already enjoyed great success with the A-series chips for iPhone and iPad, the company now wants to make a breakthrough in the laptop and desktop sector. The plan is to announce the new chips on June 22nd. However, the first ARM device is not expected until 2021. This would give developers enough time to complete their software. According to Bloomberg, it is a 12-core ARM chip that has undergone the 5-nanometer manufacturing process. Compared to Intel's current chip series for MacBook Air devices, Apple's creation is said to be more powerful.

Is the MacBook coming back with 12″?

Cupertino wants to improve both the performance and energy efficiency of MacBooks with the new ARM chips. But the cost factor should also be reduced as a result. Apple's roadmap calls for converting the MacBook series to ARM first, before the desktop devices follow. But which notebook could the company start with? The anonymous Twitter account @L0vetodream believes it knows the answer. Some time ago, it announced a new 12-inch MacBook. The device is said to use the new ARM chip architecture and will debut next year. We will soon see whether today's report is correct. (Image: Apple)
