Apple could introduce 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 chip

Tambov, Russian Federation - July 09, 2020 Unboxing new MacBook Pro.

An updated 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 chip is said to be coming to market as early as March. However, rumors suggest that Apple will keep the design of the existing M1 model and not redesign it.

It is believed that Apple is preparing a special event for March, where a new Mac is expected alongside an updated iPhone SE and iPad Air. According to new rumors (via MacRumors) it is said to be a new MacBook, more precisely the well-known 13-inch model. According to this, the device will appear in the old design but will be improved on the inside. This means that the new model will supposedly have the same display design without a notch, which also does not offer ProMotion support. It will also use the Touch Bar, an element that was removed from the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro. While the external design will remain the same, the internals will change, mainly due to the use of the M2 chip instead of the M1 chip.

But no cheaper 14-inch MacBook Pro?

MacRumors' claims are based on information from a source who had already correctly revealed the existence of the notch on the 14- and 16-inch models and the lack of Face ID support. An earlier report said that the new entry-level MacBook Pro would lose the Touch Bar but would not have a ProMotion or MiniLED display in order to save costs. In January, there was even speculation that Apple could instead introduce a new 14-inch model with M2 that would serve as the new base model. What will actually be the case in the end remains to be seen. The fact is, however, new Mac devices are definitely on the way. We only got the proof yesterday updating the EEC database brought.
