According to a tweet from the company, WhatsApp is rolling out new privacy settings for profile photos, the About section, and the "Last Seen" status. While the beta version already received these changes some time ago, all users will now be able to enjoy them.
Previously, WhatsApp users only had the option to set these settings for Everyone, My Contacts or Nobody. With the new update WhatsApp users have full control and can customize the settings with a new option called "My contacts except." This option allows your contacts to see your "last seen," profile photo, or status, except for the people you exclude.
Last Seen status updated with new WhatsApp privacy settings
If you've enabled "Last Seen" status, your contacts can see when you last used the app. This isn't always a good thing. However, you can disable the feature for specific contacts if you wish. However, if you exclude certain users from seeing your Last Seen status, you won't be able to see their status either. You can configure these new settings starting today in the Account -> Privacy menu in WhatsApp. If you don't have access yet, please make sure you've installed the latest WhatsApp update and be patient. Sometimes it can take a few days for all users to have access. (Photo by Unsplash / Dima Solomin)
