Huawei has once again postponed the market launch of its foldable smartphone Mate X – the company was reticent to give a reason.
During a press event, Huawei spoke with TechRadar about the further postponement of the market launch of its foldable smartphone, the Huawei Mate X. The device was supposed to have a global debut in September. The Chinese company stated that there was "no possibility" of putting the product on sale before November. Huawei did not give an explicit reason for this. It can be assumed that the Chinese company has high quality standards, which the Mate X currently does not meet – this move is, of course, understandable in order to avoid a PR debacle like the one experienced by Samsung. This is the second time that Huawei has postponed the release of the new folding smartphone, which was originally scheduled to launch in June or July. delay The Huawei Mate X uses a design called "Falcon Wing." This technology features a stretchable hinge that allows the 6.6-inch smartphone to transform into an 8-inch OLED tablet.
Apple is also interested in a foldable iPhone
On the whole, the folding mechanism of the Mate X is fundamentally different from Samsung's Galaxy Fold. While the Samsung model can be folded inwards, the Mate X folds outwards. This allows the user to use the screen on both the front and back. The camera is located on the wing, which has made it possible to eliminate the notch. While Samsung is charging $1,980 for the Galaxy Fold, Huawei has set the price for the Mate X at $2,600. Observers believe that despite the two delays, Huawei generally has better quality technology than its competitor Samsung. Apple is also said to be not standing idly by and is developing its own foldable iPhone - you can find out more about this here.
