Apple today launched a new recall and replacement program via a press release. This affects MacBook Pro 15″ models sold between September 2015 and February 2017.
The reason for the latest recall and replacement program is defective batteries in the MacBook Pro 15-inch model in question. In some cases, the battery in the MacBook Pro units in question can overheat and pose a safety risk, according to Apple. Affected customers can have their battery replaced free of charge by Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller. Apple emphasizes that the recall only affects 15-inch MacBook Pro units sold between September 2015 and February 2017. "The recall does not affect other 15-inch MacBook Pro models or other Mac notebooks," Apple states.
