When the new iPhone 11 series was introduced, viewers got a taste of what the new camera on the iPhone 11 Pro can do. Multi-cam support will not be exclusive.
At Apple's last event, the capabilities of the iPhone 11 Pro were presented in combination with a new version of the FiLMiC Pro application (professional camera app) - namely multi-cam support. The app was able to start several recordings at the same time. For example, it could film its surroundings with the front and rear cameras at the same time - if you thought that this feature would only be reserved for the iPhone 11 Pro, you are mistaken. It has now been confirmed that older devices will also have such a feature - even if the range of functions is less.
According to this, the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPad Pro 2018 will also get multi-cam support - but to a limited extent. Only certain camera combinations will be possible when recording is active. The whole thing is implemented using a newly developed API under iOS 13, which is available to all developers. However, the multi-cam feature is only available with third-party applications such as FiLMiC Pro - for now. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
