Apple announced the iPhone SE 3 at the "Peek Performance" event. The device features a new A15 Bionic chip, new colors and the familiar design of the iPhone 8. We have summarized some interesting details below.

The iPhone SE 3 has neither a Ceramic Shield nor MagSafe support. However, rumors suggested that the new iPhone SE 3 could be equipped with Ceramic Shield and even MagSafe. But that is not the case. Apple saysthat this iPhone has a "durable design" and the "toughest glass in a smartphone," but the company doesn't advertise Ceramic Shield. If you compare it to the iPhone 13 Pro's specs page, you'll see that the iPhone SE 3 simply doesn't have this feature.

splash, water and dust protection

The iPhone SE 3 has an IP67 rating, which means it can survive in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. The previous generation already offered this, which means this smartphone does not have the same rating as the iPhone 13 range, which has IP68.

Photo styles, Smart HDR 4, but no cinema mode

The iPhone SE 3 has two camera features from the iPhone 13 line: Photo Styles and Smart HDR 4. However, Apple has not included another feature that requires the power of the A15 Bionic, namely Cinematic Mode, so users cannot blur the background of a video like the iPhone 13.

iPhone SE 3: The front camera remains the same

Another downside to the iPhone SE 3 is that it has the same 7MP front camera with an ƒ/2.2 aperture. It was thought that this iPhone might use a 12MP sensor since the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 already offer it. But in reality, users will have to make do with the 7MP sensor, even though it offers a slightly better experience with Smart HDR 4.

What about 5G support?

The iPhone SE 3 will not be able to take advantage of “true 5G” as it does not support 5G mmWave bands. Instead, it features the sub-6GHz band.

Better battery life

The new iPhone has a better battery than its predecessor but not that much more. It offers up to 15 hours of video playback (up from 13 hours on the previous model), up to 10 hours of streaming video playback (up from 8 hours) and up to 50 hours of audio playback (up from 40 hours on the previous model).

The iPhone SE 3 is more expensive

And what about the price? Well, the iPhone SE 3 is more expensive than its predecessor. It starts at 519 euros in this country, while the predecessor was available from 479 euros. Both models have a 64 GB storage configuration. As for the iPhone SE 3, the device is also available with 128 GB for 569 euros and with 256 GB for 689 euros. The device can be ordered from March 11th, 2 p.m. pre-ordered According to Apple, delivery will begin on March 18. (Image: Apple)
