Apple has now made the Release Candidate (RC) versions of iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, tvOS 16.3, watchOS 9.3 and macOS 13.2 available to registered developers.

Apple has now released RC versions of iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, tvOS 16.3, watchOS 9.3 and macOS 13.2 for registered developers providedAs a reminder: Apple announced some time ago that the term "Release Candidate" would replace the previous term "Golden Master". iOS 16.3 update description

This update includes the following improvements and bug fixes:

  • The new Unity wallpaper celebrates black history and culture in celebration of Black History Month.
  • Apple ID Security Keys allow users to increase the security of their account by requiring a physical security key as part of two-factor authentication when signing in to new devices.
  • Support for HomePod (2nd generation).
  • SOS emergency calls now require the side button to be pressed and released with the volume up or down button to avoid accidental emergency calls.
  • Fixes an issue in Freeform where some strokes made with Apple Pencil or finger did not appear on shared whiteboards.
  • Fixes an issue that may cause the lock screen background image to appear black.
  • Fixes an issue where horizontal lines may temporarily appear when waking iPhone 14 Pro Max
  • Fixes an issue that causes the Home lock screen widget to not correctly display the Home app status.
  • Fixes an issue that may prevent Siri from responding correctly to music requests
  • Fixes an issue that may cause Siri requests in CarPlay to not be understood correctly.
